Kylian Mbappe becomes brand ambassador for sorare

There’s been some huge moves in the last week, with some of the Elite football stars signing deals with NFT companies. So far we’ve seen:

  • Cristiano Ronaldo partner with Binance, producing iconic pieces of Sports History.
  • Lionel Messi partner with Ethernity to produce NFT’s known as ‘The Messiverse’.

The one that we are most excited about though, is Kylian Mbappe becoming a brand ambassadord for Sorare. In this post, I’ll be considering what you should expect, and what not to expect from Kylian Mbappe’s partnership.

The main difference between Kylian Mbappe’s deal, is that he isn’t signing with them to produce NFTs. Sorare already produce the PSG & France National Team NFT cards for him. Instead, Kylian is going to become a brand ambassador for Sorare. If you aren’t too sure what Sorare is, then I’d advise taking a look at this review.

Kylian Mbappe Sorare Ambassador

It’s a big move for Sorare, but we haven’t been advised of the finances involved in this deal. For the marketing alone, it’s definitely going to prove a sharp rise in interest for the platform. Sorare have 150,000 followers on Twitter and Instagram, whereas Kylian Mbappe has just over 80,000,000 followers.

There will have been two reasons why Sorare targeted Mbappe, the first would be due to the fact that he’s the best talent in the world at present. Partnering with the best is a huge move, as he will be a player with global interest.

The second reason? Sorare HQ is Paris, France! The company is now valued at $4.3 billion, after a funding round which SoftBank led. It’s not the first ambassador that Sorare has either, with Gerard Pique, Antoine Griezmann and Serena Williams amongst the list of ‘A’ List backers.

In 2022/23, Sorare expects to continue it’s global takeover with the release of their Baseball Fantasy Game, which will be produced in conjunction with Major League Baseball after they agreed a deal.

Sorare has recently been under criticism, due to the NFT aspect of the game. However, Nicolas Julia has tried to remove the comparison to NFT’s, as there is Utility available with the Sorare Trading Cards.

Inspired by Kylian Mbappe

The agreement between Sorare and Mbappe will also see Kylian’s charity, “Inspired by Kylian Mbappe” supported. This is the charity which Kylian has created to educate youths from disadvantaged backgrounds all about Web 3.0 technology.

Sorare will provide something similar to a scholarship for the young people IBKM works alongside, providing training, equipment and certification at the end of the scheme.

Finally, Sorare will be auctioning a Unique Kylian Mbappe card, for charity. This is a huge donation by Sorare, with the card value to be worth around 200 Ethereum.

Kylian Mbappe spoke in an interview with Nicolas Julia: “Off the pitch, the most important thing for me is helping empower young people – who might not have access to the type of opportunities others have – to realise and fulfil their dreams and potential.

“And with new technologies presenting such profound opportunities, I wanted to partner with an ambitious, global tech brand that would resonate with the young people whose dreams we’re supporting.”

“Sorare was the perfect fit, and I was beyond inspired by Nicolas and the team’s enthusiasm for football, fans, and building a better, more inclusive world. I can’t wait to get started and make a global impact with them as their first-ever player ambassador.”

We are really excited to see how this develops, as fans of the game. Kylian also hinted that he would be starting his collection soon. Let’s see which players he rates, when he starts!
