The Introduction of Sorare National Team Cards: Sorare France Makes History
Table of Contents
You can’t fault the efforts of the Sorare team, and it’s times like these that I struggle to comprehend that there’s less than 15 employees at this organisation!
They’ve smashed boundaries and broken another record, this time introducing their first ever national team cards. Could Sorare have introduced a better team than the World Champions, France?
Whilst you would expect Sorare to start off with a few lesser nations (who you could argue may be more in need of the NFT funding fees), I can’t help but think that Sorare’s France ties, with their head office in Paris, has definitely worked in their favour.
Before you go all-out to purchase Paul Pogba and company, I thought I would give you a little breakdown of this update, including what these new cards mean.
Firstly, it’s important to understand that these Nations cards have exactly the same utility as the club cards. Just because they’re wearing their national kit, doesn’t mean you can’t enter them when playing in a league match.
Another huge benefit of these cards, are that they are part of the current market supply. As you most likely already know, Sorare limit each player to a maximum of 111 cards. If you own a Kylian Mbappe, you don’t have to worry about another 111 cards flooding their way into the market. Instead, he will receive a few very limited edition NFT’s in his national kit.
Long term, this should only be positive. Without starting transfer rumours, Mbappe will be a France player for life, but there’s no guarantee that he stays at PSG and some collectors like their cards to match current clubs.
These cards that are released will be for the 2020 season, so matches their card supply limit. Sorare have advised that they will auction at least 5 National Team cards per player, permitting the card supply limit allows for this.

Final Thoughts
Long term, these French Kit variants will offer some extra collectivity. What’s more interesting is the borders that are opened up with National Team rights.
I think Sorare would really struggle getting the rights to some teams, especially teams like Manchester United who have battled with Football Manager in recent years. The fact that they can get Paul Pogba with a different method gives the platform some added strength.
We have also seen the introduction of some more professional players to Sorare, Clement Lenglet & Ousmane Dembele have joined Antoine Griezmann on the platform.
We’ve already seen Grizou coming through with his deep pockets and is amassing a collection that dreams are made of. I suppose that’s what £250,000 a week gets you!
The last bit of news that we have to bring, is that we really don’t think Sorare are finished yet. They love their cryptic teasers, but have advised quite blatanty that they are working on adding a new national team.
We can’t wait to see the next update!
