Sorare Belgium: The Red Devils Enter the NFT World
Table of Contents
Nobody would have guessed International Teams, when Sorare HQ asked it’s fans to predict the next club acquisition.
Well, that would be the case, but they did the unimaginable of acquiring France & Germany just days before.
National team cards offer a huge way into specific players, as teams such as Manchester United would be difficult to obtain the rights. However, they can achieve the star players such as Paul Pogba in other ways, with special cards that feature the national team kit.
This will work the same with Sorare’s Belgium reveal, as players such as Kevin De Bruyne, Youri Tielemans and more will finally enter the platform. Before you worry about the doom & gloom of more Romelu Lukaku cards, you need not worry as the cards that are released will count towards the 111 of the season. This means if you manage to cop a Lukaku in his National Kit, that may have even more collectible value.

Benefits of Belgium Joining the Sorare Platform
We’ve already breifly discussed the benefits, but they can’t be ignored. Sorare have already went straight for the best International Teams, with arguably England, Spain & Italy remaining.
Of course, our friends in USA will be waiting for their International cards too, but this may come with time!
The acquisition of a whole nation will bring more attention to Sorare, which will also help to tackle any scarcity issues. Arguably, you could counter and say that this will bring about more members, but Sorare will increase the reward pool when this occurs.
Movements like this are vital to help the ecosystem of Sorare, to keep their Primary & Secondary Markets active.
Which Players Are Worth Purchasing?
We’ve had a quick look at the Belgium National Team, and found some great additions to the platform. Now, the names I’m going to be releasing aren’t 16 year old wonderkids, so when I mention a player that’s already one of the best midfielders in World Football, well I hold my hands up!
Kevin De Bruyne
Although he’s not a cheap option by any means, De Bruyne would increase the spine of any team. His average score over the last 40 games is a whopping 68, which is exactly the sort of reliability you need from a Midfielder on Sorare. His price is between 2.6 and 2.8 Eth at the moment, my only advice would be if you want him; get him! As Manchester City aren’t on the platform yet, there will be no more Kevin’s added once his National Team cards have completed their cycle.
If you’re planning on building for the future, which a lot of managers do, Kevin won’t fit into this team at the ripe age of 30. In line with his age and detiorating fitness, it’s also worth pointing out that Kevin De Bruyne didn’t feature in 20 matches last season, with a Hamstring injury keeping him out of the bulk of the 20. I’m not talking down the player though, as the Fixture Congestion was absolutely unforgivable in the Premier League 2020/21 season.
So it’s without doubt that Kevin De Bruyne is my number one pick from the Red Devils. He will sit straight into your Champion Europe or Global All Star Teams.
Thomas Meunier
At the other end of the pricing spectrum is Thomas Meunier. He’s a solid option for just less than 0.15 Ethereum. He’s 29 years old, so won’t be a star for the next decade. You’ll get a solid 2-3 years of utility though, which is more than enough to recover your investment and some!
The thing with Meunier is that he likes to get forward, quite a lot. In addition to creating crosses for Lukaku to get on the end of, he isn’t shy to take a shot himself! In his 4 appearances at the Euros, he’s scored once and assisted twice. That’s a phenomenal output for a right back.
I don’t think you’ll go wrong for the price. Yes he’s not as exciting as a wonderkid, but at the end of the day, he’s not wonderkid money!
Thorgan Hazard
Another player which has captured my attention is Thorgan Hazard. There’s quite a few different Hazard’s now in professional football, Kylian, Ethan & the most known Eden!
Thorgan Hazard is a midfielder that plays for Borussia Dortmund, he’s now reaching his peak at 28 years old. He’s another player that I’d earmark as very well priced on Sorare.
At just 0.2 Ethereum, he will offer an exciting experience. This is partly due to his playstyle, where he can either score 12 points, or 70+!
Youri Tielemans
If you fancy a player with potential, I don’t think there’s a better up and coming Belgian player than Youri Tielemans.
What feels even stranger, is that Tielemans is actually 24 and he should be getting to the point where he’s ‘almost there’ opposed to being up and coming. Tielemans has been fantastic for Leicester City, showing signs of maturity and those elite playmaker traits which will allow him to prosper even further in the game.
For the record, I’ll admit that I like Vandevoordt and Jeremy Doku, and they’re probably my favourite picks but they aren’t necessarily in the First 11 for Belgium.
Youri Tielemans is priced around 0.275 Ethereum, which at the time is around £450. In a few years, I fully expect him to be the central hub of the Belgium team, much like what Kevin De Bruyne is now.
You’ll get a good 8-10 years of utility from Youri, plus have the chance to hold onto a Tielemans card which has potentially led his nation to European Glory! Time will tell!
Final Thoughts
I’m a huge fan of these International Cards. They add more of a collectability value to Sorare, as it introduces limited print runs of specific cards. In addition, we are given access to players that aren’t yet signed up with Sorare, such as Borussia Dortmund.
I can only imagine the day that they get signed. Erling Haaland, Moukoko & Bellingham could break barriers.
This was my first real piece too on player profiles & It’s something that I’m going to look at more, moving forwards. Let me know if you enjoyed it! Also, feel free to mention any Sorare Belgium players which I have missed! (Not Lukaku et al though, as they do have their Inter cards!).
