Youssoufa Moukoko Scout Report analysis: Haaland replacement?

Youssoufa Moukoko Scout Report

One way to play Sorare is to use your knowledge of Youth Talent, purchasing all of the cards when they are ‘rookies’ and either utilising them in the tournaments, or selling them for an healthy profit. The issue that we find with some players, is that they get hyped up from a really early age.

Youssoufa Moukoko Scout Report

Let’s take Borussia Dortmund striker Youssoufa Moukoko as a prime example. He’s just turned 17 years old, but he’s already valued at close to £20 million. His stats are phenomenal, and I just have to show you a breakdown of why he’s so hyped.

  • Under 17 Bundesliga: 49 appearances, 83 goals & 14 assists.
  • Under 19 Bundesliga: 23 appearances, 44 goals & 10 asissts.

This fine form at such a young age has already led to lots of hype. Borussia Dortmund’s very own Twitter account has been hyping him, which is already sending the fans a little bit crazy. Moukoko did earn a call-up to Dortmunds main team, where he has featured on 29 occasions. This is quite good for a 17 year old, especially when half of these appearances came when he was just 16.

In fact, Youssoufa Moukoko broke the Bundesliga record as the youngest player ever to feature in a competitive game, featuring at 15 years old.

Although he’s featured in the main team, Moukoko hasn’t completely set the league alight. He’s had his fair share of injuries which has halted any progress he could make, as he’s not been able to build up a good run of form. He has netted though, scoring twice and assisting twice in the 2021/22 campaign.

If he can sort out his injury issues which hampered the mid-part of last season, we could see a ready made replacement for Erling Haaland. Or he can at least fill some of the void, with Sebastian Haller doing his part too.

Youssoufa Moukoko Sorare

The hype around Moukoko does appear to have transferred through to his Sorare price. When comparing him with Erling Haaland, who has recently transferred to Manchester City, his price doesn’t seem to make too much sense.

A Limited Moukoko card will set you back around 0.25 Ethereum, which converts to around £235. Erling Haaland, who is already proven to some extent, will set you back just under £1,400. This means that Moukoko is around 20% of the price of Haaland.

Although these figures are miles apart, I do feel like Moukoko is slightly over-priced. It would imply that there’s a 4/1 chance that Moukoko will be as good as Erling Haaland, or at least his scoring on Sorare will be.

With that being said, his price does hold a premium because he’s just turned 17 years old. He is a player similar to Gavi and Pedri, with mega-utility. They can feature in the Under 23’s for another 6 seasons! Let’s dig into the data.

Sorare Performance Watch

It’s quite difficult to analyse Moukoko’s current performances, as he’s often been coming on as a substitute. However, owners will be impressed to see that in the last game of the 2021/22 season, against Hertha BSC he managed to score 62. This was completed despite the fact he came on as a substitute, with just 7 minutes on the pitch.

He didn’t start a game in the 2021/22 campaign, so there will definitely be interest in what he can do if given the chance.

Youssoufa Moukoko Transfer Speculation

There are rumours linking Moukoko with a transfer to Newcastle United, if they miss out on the other future-star that’s Hugo Ekitike. However, this could well be the transfer market in full swing, as journalists are looking to piece newly funded Newcastle United to any potential signing.

He doesn’t need to rush at 17 years old. He is out of contract in June 2023, so if Borussia Dortmund are going to offer him a contract, they need to act fast. Will they offer him to the market at £20 million, or will they give him first-team assurances alongside a bumper contract?

What do you think of Moukoko? Will he live up to the hype, or will he be another player to add to the ‘if only’ list?
