Sorare Stacks Strategy: Players From the Same Team

Sorare Stacks are something that certainly divide the community. Although the power of them is definitely undeniable when they work, they are also seen as a bit ‘unethical’ in the gaming world. Personally, I think there’s no problem in stacking a full team.

In this article, I’ll be explaining exactly what a Sorare Stack is within the tournaments and explain why they work so well. Quick disclaimer; it’s not all fun and games because when they don’t perform, they typically lose hard!

What is a Sorare Stack?

A stack is where a manager decides to choose all of their players from the same team. There are many advantages of doing this, but there’s also a huge downside.

Some managers also class it as a stack if you choose 5 players from 2 clubs, for example a 4 Player / 1 Player split, or 3 Player / 2 Player split.

I like to class a stack solely as a full team from one club. I’ve added an example below of a great stack.

A perfect example of a stack on Sorare

There aren’t many better stacks than a Bayern Munich one, although I would continue with hesitancy in the 2022/23 season. With a few players moving on, it increases the chance of rotation as Bayern look towards finding their next superstars.

Why do people Stack their Lineups?

Managers stack on Sorare because it can be a lot easier to win a reward card, than without stacking. If you can build a lineup using a club such as Bayern Munich, Liverpool, PSG or Real Madrid then you’ll have a great chance of winning rewards. However, it’s not as simple as simply picking players.

You will need to ensure that your lineup are the dominant players in the team, as it will make no sense to purchase players that will be subs, or score low points.

In a team such as Real Madrid, you want to make sure that you take Courtois, Vinicius Jr, Benzema and Kroos. Avoid players like Gareth Bale, Asensio & Lunin who aren’t nailed on for gametime.

When you’re looking for a team to build a stack with, I would consider only looking at the top 2/3 teams in a league. Using La Liga as an example again, you’ll want to consider Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid & Barcelona. Avoid teams like Alaves, Eibar who won’t be performing well every single week.

Who are the best teams to build a Sorare Stack with?

The answer to this one is quite a difficult one, as it’s susceptible to change every single transfer window. However, as of the 2021/22 season, I’d suggest the following stacks:

  • Challenger Europe: Benfica, Porto, Ajax, PSV, Anderlecht, Club Brugge, Genk, RB Salzburg
  • Champion Europe: Bayern Munich, AC Milan, Inter Milan, PSG, Liverpool, Real Madrid
  • Champion America: River Plate, New England Revolution, Inter Miami, Boca Juniors, Flamengo

There will be even more potential stacks as new leagues join; for example when the Scottish league joins. Celtic & Rangers would be great stacks.

Advantages of Sorare Stacks

There’s one huge advantage to deploying your stack. You should be deploying from a dominant team, which also means that they should be winning most of the time.

When they do win, your players will score incredibly well. Even better if they’re playing lower opposition, as Clean Sheet bonuses should add even more points to your haul.

Another advantage is that they are much easier to predict than if you were to select one player from each club. In this case, you would be gambling that all 5 Clubs were to win.

It can be difficult to predict individual player performances against a stack

I’m not sure if you have experience with Bookmakers or accumulators, but when you add more teams to the mix your odds increase. That’s because the odds of every team winning individually is low, but as you need more and more outcomes to go your way, it becomes less likely.

I hope that’s a good way to explain that, although Sorare isn’t actually gambling the process works in the same way.

Essentially when you’re using a stack you’re relying on one team, but in the example above we really need all 5 teams to perform. Or at the very least, if your team loses then your players needs to play great!

Disadvantages of Stacking

A sorare stack is likely to yield results. However, they are becoming increasingly popular, which means that you’ll be facing tight competition most of the time. This will make it harder to hit the podium places.

In addition to this, your captain choice will make or break your lineup. As more people are using stacks, if you choose a captain and he doesn’t maximise your point scoring, you will likely miss out. This could become frustrating.

Playing with Sorare stacks is also quite expensive. If you build stacks of the best teams, you should expect to pay the higher prices, as you’re taking most premium players.

The final disadvantage is that if your team loses, you will write off that gameweek completely. We’ve seen this time and time again, especially during the end of a season when the league title has already been confirmed.

The final 3 games of the season would have been dreadful for Bayern stacks, with the Red Card the icing on the cake (Coman getting red carded with less than 20 seconds to go in the match).

Winning the league too early can be a big issue for your tournament efforts, as clubs like Bayern Munich look to give their fringe players more gametime. Ideally, we want maximum effort, with minimal rotation of players. If only it was that easy.

Sorare Stacks: Conclusion & Final Thoughts

There’s no denying that stacks work on Sorare. They won’t have 100% guaranteed success, but they will definitely be the long-term bet. I don’t think having one team worth of stacks will be enough though, you will need a wide range of stacks to cope with mid-week, weekend and rotation fixtures.

You will need some luck along the way, but you will perform better long term with Stacks on Sorare.
